Sensei Price teaches in Nailsea and Backwell

1 November 2014

Sensei Price teaching in Nailsea Nailsea Karate and Backwell Karate were pleased to host Sensei Matt Price, 6th Dan, for a two-day open seminar over the weekend of Friday 31st October and Saturday 1st November.

Sensei Price taught three separate classes, which were all well attended by students from across the south west. The first, on Friday night at the Backwell Parish Hall dojo, focused on kumite. As well as working on techniques and tactics, Sensei also focused on the importance of leg strength.

Classes two and three were held in the main sports hall at Scotch Horn Leisure Centre in Nailsea. Sensei used the first, which was open to all grades, to work on the development of strength, power and being grounded to perform the most effective techniques possible. Sensei Price also ran through some grappling exercises that are always well-received on his courses. In the second class, Sensei worked on kata, with the majority of time spent on improving Enpi.

Thank you to Sensei Price for visiting and running a course which has had fantastic feedback from all that ended. Thanks also to those that travelled to the course, from across Devon, North Somerset, Bristol and Gloucestershire.
