50 members and guests made the most of the opportunity to train under 10-times KUGB Grand Champion Sensei Frank Brennan on Sunday, with 23 members passing their coloured belt exam too.

Sensei Brennan – an 8th Dan in KUGB Karate – taught for a total of three hours, with 90 minutes of pre-grading Karate fundamentals, partnerwork and katas before putting members through their paces in a coloured belt (or kyu grade) examination. Sensei Brennan was pleased with the overall standard, which reflects the great level of hard work from those at the club, particularly in the last few weeks of preparation. Congratulations to all those members that successfully passed their grading!

Black belts members and guests were then treated to a further 90 minutes of instruction, as Sensei Brennan broke down katas Bassai Sho and Chinte, giving tips on how to execute each movement to best effect in kata performance.

Thank you to everyone that supported the event. Our next club grading will be a multi-club grading hosted by Bath SKC. The event will be held on Sunday 11th December at Sir Bernard Lovell School, Oldland Common, BS30 8TS.
